Different way to look at scalability and flexibility with Microsoft Dynamics 365
We’ve talked before about the importance of the flexibility and scalability of Microsoft Dynamics 365, but I often wonder if executives really see the
sheer potential of this aspect of the CRM platform.
People tend to think of scalability in terms of how it will grow with your business, bringing on new employees and customers as you get bigger, always the dream
of any entrepreneur.
And this is true, of course: it can cope with literally millions and millions of transactions, which is why Dynamics 365 is the CRM for choice for SMEs through
to large enterprises.
Change over time
Yet, generally, most businesses develop and change over time, so it is this flexibility that becomes so important. New product lines, new business processes,
new territories, new business divisions, all can be handled by Dynamics.
Whether the transformational change is an acquisition of another company, bringing manufacturing processes in house or a ramp-up in sales and marketing activity,
the changes in how you need to operate can be handled by Microsoft’s powerhouse technology.
We have some customers who are able to run entirely different businesses under the hood of one system.
One of our long-term clients Pure Cremation has seen its business grow from around 15 staff to over 250, yet it is the change in how their business operated that
drove the most change.
The importance of pre-pay funeral plans grew significantly, meaning a number of core activities changed. Firstly, their focus shifted to high levels
of marketing involving sophisticated customer acquisition and relationship management.
With this came the need for FCA regulations and we were able to build in compliance, security and vulnerability features into their CRM, working closely
with their teams to flex the system to meet their needs.

Detailed scoping
The other thing that I consistently find is that, with all the will in the world, and even with the most detailed scoping process, business leaders simply
don’t know what they have with Dynamics 365 until they get it up and running.
It all demonstrates the awesome potential of having such a powerful tool underpinning your business.
